Couldn't be happier if I were a clam!

MY problem: When I would purchase a new chain for my Stihl, I would use about 3/4 of the available adjustment before the chain has even ran. I contacted Stihl, and they replied that Yes, this sometimes happens, get the chain shortened after it will no longer adjust. So, I took 4 chains that I had barely used but could no longer adjust to my Stihl dealer. He looked at them and told me that they were stretched to far to be safely shortened. (I am using a good quality chain oil and properly tensioning the chain) He sold me 2 new chains for $50 when I had only sharpened the other chains maybe 3 or 4 times and most of the tooth was still left. My solution: buy my own rivet spinner and shorted my own chains. SLE Equipment had the cheapest price on this Oregon spinner of anyplace else and I received it in about 3 days. It is a very well made and easy to use item. But the best part is that I have already paid for it by shortening my first 4 chains and I don't have to take it someplace and pay them to do it (or not). Highly recommended.
