Having owned a landscaping business many years ago, I am very familiar with this equipment. I installed it as directed, although I had to drill new holes in the mounting plate to match the holes on the mower. No Biggie. The instructions said the holes in the mower need to be at least 12" above the ground. Mine were 13". Good there. The reason for the 12" min is so when you hop off the velkie in reverse, the foot platform can swing around backward and roll back with the reverse motion of the mower. The foot platform is supposed to fit under the arm that connects to the mounting plate on the mower. This did not happen! The wheel gets wedged under the support arm and the foot platform does not rotate around. So going in reverse causes the now sideways foot platform to dig into the ground. No Good! So now my only choice is re-drill holes lower on the mounting plates, which will raise it up on the mower, or just sell it. Disappointing. Make sure you have the support arm at a steep enough angle from the ground to the mounting plates so the foot platform can swing back under it when in reverse. Other than this problem, I am good with the quality of it.
