I live in Florida where heavy growth of every imaginable kind is prolific. I routinely cut all types of deep-undergrowth terrain involving large-diameter saplings, tangled vines, 8-foot high reeds/weeds & dog-fennel, decaying leaf-bogs, dense-brush, tall-grass, etc. I historically have handled these jobs with my 40-hp tractor & 5-foot bush-hog attachment. However, I wanted a more compact unit for transport & a greater level of maneuverability to reach the more confined areas... so I began my search for a heavy duty brush mower.
I read all of the reviews & researched the internet & You-Tube for information. During my exhaustive research... I became very interested when I came across the Havener Bradley Brush Buster 36" Commercial Brush Mower. I began to compare its stats to every other Brush Mower on the market. Not only did it have a higher build-quality & more durable components, but the price was reasonable by comparison to any other unit on the market. Based upon my diligent research & lengthy discussions with the highly knowledgeable staff & engineers at Havener... I decided to pull-the-trigger & give it a try so I ordered the unit by telephone sight unseen.
I received my shipment by cargo-truck soon after ordering. It arrived packaged in a custom built steel-stock cage to protect it from any damage. Assembly was minimal & it was ready to go. The build-quality was as advertised... I am happy to report that it was beyond my expectations... extremely heavy-duty commercial-grade unit. I initially gave it several tests on various terrains to see how it performed. I found that the steerage took a very short time to master & is relatively intuitive & highly maneuverable. I really like the durable overall build-quality, heavy rod-linkage instead of cables, dual ZT hydro-drives, the electric starter, smooth-25 HP engine, electric clutch to engage cutter, large-diameter-heavy-lug tires, front-flip deck wheels, heavy-gauge fabricated deck & frame, ergonomic controls & many other features.
I am always reluctant to rate a piece of equipment too early until I have had an ample amount of time to run it through the rigors of my demanding brush-cutting regimen. After some time now, I am pleasantly surprised to find that this Bradley Brush Buster has lived up to its name & tackled every demanding task that I put it through in any extreme brush-condition. I continue to be impressed by its durability & inherent capabilities. It is fast becoming the envy of other landscapers, heavy brush-cutters & other comrades who routinely witnesss it performing in these environments. Anywhere, any time... It truly blows away all other Brush Mower competitors on the market today.
Many thanks & my supreme compliments to the owners, engineers & entire staff at Havener for a stellar job so well done on this Brush Buster!
Sincerely, Extremely Satisfied Customer: Wizard
I bought this to cut heavy brush and tall weeds and grass. It fails on tall weeds and grass, excels on heavy brush and woody plants. I believe that the blades are not spinning fast enough to cut grass or even some 3' high weeds, they get laid over without being cut, even after sharpening the new blades that come with a blunt edge from factory. The machine is well built, front end heavy which will cause the skis to tear up the ground anytime you turn. I partially solved this problem by mounting heavy counterweights on the rear step that is meant to stand on, which removes some weight off the cutter deck making turning easier, traveling across a nice yard is best done with front wheels down. Bottom line is, this is a good heavy duty machine that cuts saplings large or small, woody plants very well and is poor cutting weeds and or grass.
Better than the Dr brush mower I have
