Generac Part 7006 Smart Management Module (SMM)
The Generac Part 7006, also known as the 100-Amp Load Manager (or previously, Smart Management Module - SMM), is a critical accessory designed to optimize the performance and coverage of your Generac home standby generator.
It acts as an intelligent switch that manages high-demand, non-essential 240V appliances (like large central air conditioners, electric ranges, or sub-panels).
Features
Wire-Free Technology
- The module is "self-aware" and operates autonomously. It monitors the generator's electrical frequency (Hz) and automatically sheds (shuts off) the connected load if the frequency drops (indicating an overload) to allow the generator to recover. No control wires are required back to the transfer switch.
Maximum Compatibility
- Works with virtually any Generac single-phase standby generator or PWRcell™ energy storage system.
Lock-Out Feature
- Permits the blocking of the specific circuit only when the system is running on generator power, freeing up power for more critical loads.
