Generac Part 6175 Cold Weather Kit for 1.5L Engine
The Generac 6175 kit is an absolute necessity for generators installed in regions where the ambient temperature regularly falls below 32°F (0°C). Its purpose is to ensure the generator can perform its automatic start reliably during a winter power outage. When installing this kit, Generac requires that the standard engine oil be replaced with 5W-30 Synthetic Engine Oil. This lower viscosity synthetic oil flows much better in freezing conditions, working in conjunction with the battery warmer to ensure a quick start.
