The saw performs as it should. It pulls the 36-inch chain in dry oak and cuts quickly. I used the saw to cut up a dry valley oak here in California, and the biggest cut was 30 inches in diameter. The saw also starts like the other Echo saws that I own; reliably when cold after setting. The saw does not have a compression release, but can be cold started easily if the owner holds the saw down with the left foot and right hand and pulls the saw through with the left hand. Once cold started the saw easily starts from the standing position.
The saw is a great value compared to the competitors. All of my Echo saws have run reliably for many years and been good values. To date, I am very pleased with the saw.
