The rubber flap that comes standard on the zee 2 has a tendency to leave a piled line of cut grass as you mow. Being able to open the discharge chute allows for the cut grass to better distribute, thus alleviating the line. I've also noticed the underside of the deck remains cleaner and doesn't clog with as much grass. Just be prepared to drill two holes in the side of your deck in order to install (one on the left and one on the right side of the chute). I simply installed the three top bolts (will drop into the holes left behind from the rubber flap after it is removed) and then used the holes on the side as a guide for the ones I needed to drill. Drilled a 3/8" hole and then filed square for the carriage bolts. A triangle hand file is all that it took. If you installed them with the nut on the underside you could probably get away with just drilling the holes and not filing. Since I wanted them all uniform and with no obstructions on the underside of the deck I opted to file. So far it has all worked great. Overall I have been more than pleased.
