I own a kbl 27 that was made in the 90s. I've abused the heck out of this thing! It will start 1st pull of the season and any other time. Also, have a kbl35a I bought used for 30 bux it's not nearly as reliable because sometimes you have to pull it 2 or 3 times when it's cold???? always 1st after warming up. They are by far the best trimmer/brushcutter ever made in my opinion.
I had a landscape maintenance business and after having Tanaka weed eaters were not made well at all. These Kawasaki's seem to last forever like I was told when I bought 2 of them from the small engine repair shop. He told me that no one that has bought one of these had ever bought any parts for them but I really didn't believe him at all, because of all of the trouble I had in the past with other weed eaters. I have still the 2 Kawasaki weed eaters, that have not ever even had a carburetor rebuilt with new diaphragms. These Kawasaki weed eaters are the very best and I used mine daily for many years and rock solid beyond my belief. I treasure my Kawasaki weed eaters even though I no longer do landscape maintenance for a business. have found out how true that small engine shop owner is when he said no one has ever bought any parts to these units. I now believe it and have for over 20 years. Kawasaki Heavy Industries builds these and just to let you know, Kawasaki has been in business since 1878, the first product they built was a sail ship. Motorcycles, railroads, space stations, and military helicopters not to mention ballistic missiles. These weed eaters are just some small things they build!
handle design is weird, both ends are to heavy & not balanced well. Motor is easy to start & runs very strong .. but over all a very poor design .. wish I'd of gone with an Echo in the same price range to replace my older dependable Echo that I donated to the church
Works well.
second one I owned in the past decade the best trimmer there is in my opinion
