Product Description

Husqvarna R322t with a 41 inch combi deck

Features:

Articulated steering

  • The unique articulated steering system allows the rear pair of wheels to swing in underneath the machine. The result is superior maneuverability with a minimum turning radius at full lock.

All-Wheel-Drive (AWD)

  • All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) ensures traction on uneven, wet and slippery areas and slopes. AWD automatically adjusts the traction on all wheels depending on situation and ground condition.

Front-mounted cutting deck

  • Front-mounted 41 inch cutting deck for excellent accessibility into corners and under bushes, park benches etc.

Service position

  • Service position on the cutting deck facilitates cleaning and service.

Attachment frame

  • Easy to shift between cutting decks and front-mounted attachments, such as broom, flail mower, snow blade and snow thrower.

External fuel cap

  • Thanks to the external fuel cap, you don't have to open the engine hood when taking on more fuel. The extra wide fuel tank opening makes refueling even easier.

Pedal-operated hydrostatic transmission

  • Speed and direction are managed by pedals, which lets you keep both hands on the steering wheel, for optimum driving control.

Very disappointed in Husqvarna

I've owned this for several years. Really like the concept but the machine was never dependable. I expect better from Husqvarna. Very hard to maintain. Front and rear transmissions need to be synchronized every season and this is not easy to do. It can be done if you have the right tools and patience and three hands. Most Husqvarna servicers will not touch this mower. Had a transmission recall the second year I owned it. Right now transmissions stutter climbing a medium grade. Had a tie rod end break on the linkage that synchronizes the front and back transmissions. The tie rod end had a foreign object cast into it causing a weak point where it broke in two. Have to replace the deck belt about twice a season. The Briggs engine never ran right. Had to replace the carb on year three because the engine would sputter while running and backfire when shutting down or cruising downhill. I Will not buy this mower again but would like to find a similarly designed, better quality mower if there is one out there. I give A+ for the concept and maneuverability but the quality is terrible. Will probably be throwing the machine away this summer because transmissions are going out. Would be too expensive to fix if you can find a person to work on it. Owned about 6 years and regretted it a year after I purchased it. Would have thrown it away sooner but it was so expensive and felt I needed to get some use out of it.

Not recommended

I purchased this mower at the end of 2019 and it currently has only 25 hours on it and is now needing its fourth mowing deck belt. If the grass is taller than a couple of inches over normal mowing height this mower has a difficult time moving it. When coming down slopes if you are not able to come down at full speed be careful because the back end will break loose and start coming around the side of the mower causing it to very easily flip. The 20hp engine is way under power. I wouldn’t recommend this mower to an enemy.

Outstanding unit

Tried the 2WD R122 and was not impressed with it's work on slopes. This 4WD R322 with a Combi deck is outstanding.

Beast of a mower

This mower will handle anything you throw at it. Only rated at climbing 10 percent grade but will easily do 50+. We live on a really steep mountain lot and I was torn between either paying 10K+ on a Ventrac or similar, or paying a company several hundred per month. I took a chance on this mower, and it continues to exceed my expectations. The only negative thing I have to say is there is a serious lack of availability of parts and qualified service dealers in our area. Fortunately, the mowers are super easy to maintain, and aside from replacing drive belts and fluid, you should not have many issues. If you are not afraid to turn a wrench and screwdriver every once in a while, this is a great buy. If you depend on others to fix everything that breaks, look elsewhere.

Extremely Surefooted!

The AWD on this mower is amazing! I have a large yard with a number of challenging dips and valleys. With my previous zero turn mower, I had the dreaded experience of mowing along a slope and suddenly losing traction and having the mower dive down into the ditch. Not an ideal situation! The R322T AWD handled this with ease.
Also, the Combi 103 deck is outstanding. I know most people prefer the side discharge, but the Combi deck did a great job mulching grass that should have been mowed weeks earlier (delivery took longer than expected). In fact, I was mowing in a downpour and it left virtually no clumps. I was delighted. Another advantage of no side discharge is that I can approach gardens and other landscape features from either side with no worries about where the clippings are going.
Another wonderful feature is the 'service position.' The deck can be easily and quickly raised into a vertical position for cleaning. I'll be able to do a much better job keeping the deck clean, and I should get additional years of service as a result.
The mower is great, however the manual is lacking. It appears to have been translated from Swedish into English (Swenglish). Sections are very unclear - like how to properly mount the deck and how to put the deck into 'service position.' The illustrations don't help much either. And there are conflicts within the manual, like what the proper tire pressure is (one section says 8.5 PSI, another says 9.0 PSI).
All said, this is an exceptional machine, and SLE has the best pricing.
