I bought this for my new Echo 18" CS-400 and with a slight alteration, it fits and works great. The larger cases were a huge square box-looking thing where the side door drops down and saw comes out the side of the case plus more expensive and takes too much room. I'm "old school" and liked this top half opening kind of better. The quality of the material is good but I gave it a 3 star because the shield that goes over the bar & chain is a separate piece that is not attached to the main body and it easily comes out from the groves it slips down in. I solved that by attaching it with a screw-on each side of the slots it fits in. The saw went in fine but was hard to get out so I cut away the top of the chain bar extension sleeve up to the place where the lid would close down to. That worked so now I'm satisfied. A 16" chain bar would have fit with no alterations necessary. I can see that if you left the chain bar cover unattached, put it on the saw, and then set it down into the case making sure the sleeve guides slipped into the slots it would also work. I would go this route again rather than the huge box drop down side door model.
