HERE'S MY HONEST REVIEW..
Built/Works well. I was not expecting to do my own fabricating to make it work for the amount of money spent even though it was to fit the specific mower. The instructions for fabricating were found in a package with bolts however not in the description when purchased. Cutting and drilling required hardened drill bits and cut-off saw due to the heavy metal. Fastening plates were too short and had to be modified a bit to work on the frame. Due to the design of the mount the front mower cover plate needed modification to fit due to the way the mount attaches.
Contacted manufacturer about owner fabrication that I felt should have been done before shipping and was told that was the way it comes. I then sent pictures of poor fitment and the alterations needed however no response or there was a lack of concern. I do understand how engineering never likes outside input to help with design to address concerns. I guess it is what it is!
Expensive but worth it. The mounting kit requires you to actually do the fabrication of the components. I suspect some people will have a hard time doing this properly. $100 should have purchased a completely fabricated mounting bar. What was supplied was an instruction sheet, steel, and screws. That said, I was very happy with how the dethatcher performed and highly recommend it.
I bought this after having used a pull behind thatcher before which was a pain to use. This piece of equipment works great, way more control and you can see how well it is working. It is not a cheap attachment and is very well designed.
I would highly recommend this thatcher for your mower.
I was looking for a commercial quality dethatcher to mount on the front of my Massey SCUT. Nobody made one (take note JRCO) but this was available for the Kubota BX so I went with “close enough”
Mounting was custom...but I found a surprisingly simple solution that retains my weight bracket (needed with the bagger).
After a little bit of height adjustment, I was off and going. Works excellent on my property. Now to start booking those yards to make some money!
I purchased this tine rake de-thatcher for my own residential use. Since I was not going to be using it often (maybe 2-3 times per year) I did not want to spend a ton of money on it. The price was perfect even with shipping. I received the rake very quickly and installation was a breeze. My only comment on the installation instructions is that it was not clear in the instructions that my mower (Toro Z-Master 48" w/Turbo Force Deck) required a special adapter for the mounting bar so I needed to follow a mower-specific insert for a few steps instead of the standard installation instructions. It wasn't a big deal since the adapter WAS included (hence the need to specify your mower type when you order). My issue was solved very quickly when I called customer support and they pointed me to the adapter and accompanying instructions. Other than that . . . very smooth. The rake itself worked perfectly. It was amazing how much dead grass and other stuff it pulled up. I also use a Cyclone Rake vac so as the JRCO rake pulled stuff up the Cyclone Rake sucked it all up. I suppose the same would be true if you have a rear bagger. The worst-case scenario is you'll have to rake it all up. Back to the rake . . . great product, easy install, worked perfectly. Highly recommend for Fall or Spring clean-up or any other time of the year.
