I have one of these on my Toro recycler it runs great but here the problem. I work on lawn mowers for customers and I have had one torn apart and these are the main issues I see with them. #1 the pull start. It's made of plastic and so is the flywheel cup if it gets old it gets brittle and breaks. #2 the carb. It has very tiny jets to make it run lean to pass emissions they clog easily so most of the time it's best and cheapest to replace the carb #3 RARE but I have seen them come in for head gasket issues #4 again rare but I have also seen the plastic cam shift timing if someone hits something hard with the blade
Carburetor jets clog very easily. The gas cap opens up if you mow near bushes or shrubs. Choke stuck closed on carb mounting bracket. The gas tank vent leaks gas on the air cleaner.
