Having used my father-in-laws Scagg TigerCat for 2 seasons mowing his yard I was wanting my own zero turn mower but didn't have the justification or budget for a commercial unit like his. Having used a few residential models there is no comparison to the commercial models. I went to a couple of the big box stores to check out the options and then my dad told me to check out SLE. Man I'm I glad I did. This model wasn't even on my radar but after seeing it and comparing it to the price of the ones at the big box places this is hands down a far better deal and far better mower. The MZ61 didn't leave me missing the Scagg one bit. I can attest this is hands down the best deal in the mid-commercial market. Highly recommended!!

I mow 22 lawns in our short season in northern Wisconsin and I bought this mower to speed up my mowing times. It has done that and overall I'm pleased with its performance. I wish it had some sort of braking system to use while going down hills as I have a few doozies.... The only way I could try to brake was by pulling back on the controls and then I lose traction and steering altogether so I'm forced to use my garden tractor on those hills. I do wish it came with the mid-grade FS series Kawasaki engine instead of the FR series as the mower does have some nice commercial components but just the beginner Kawasaki engine. I would have been willing to pay more for the uptick but I guess those engines come on Hisqvarnas mid range commercial units and I should be happy with what I have...? It'll probably last thousands of hour with timely oil changes I'm sure. I like Husqvarna products from professional chain saws to backpack blowers to push mowers and my next zero turn mower will likely be a full commercial Husqvarna zero turn.

I own a small lawn care service and decided to go with a bigger/faster zero turn for 2015. Upgraded from a Cub Cadet RZT-50. WOW! What an incredible difference in productivity! This unit is MUCH faster. The cut is excellent as well. Have to be careful if the yard you are cutting has dips or high spots as the deck does not "float" such as on my Cub. Also, be careful on the discharge side because the blades cut all the way to the chute and you can easily chop into the chute or cut into tree roots if youre not VERY careful. You will definitely scalp a high spot bare. The blades are excellent and last pretty good. The Kaw engine is superb with plenty of cutting power. I wish you could see the drive tires because this thing goes fast enough to peel out all the time. Took some time to develop a "feel" for the controls. Also like that it is greaseable-casters and spindles + deck pivot. Very well constructed unit. Should have upgraded years ago and I am going to retire my Cub and replace it with a 48" Husky for 2016.

  5. Great Machine

This machine works pretty well for our purposes. We have 11 acres to mow each week during the summer and many trails through our timber. We have a lot of trees to mow around, and this cuts our mowing time down by a few hours each week! I would not give it 5 starts simply because the tires are not nearly big enough for this type of machine. We wish we would have bought the commercial grade version with larger tires. These tires do not get traction in many areas and mowing close to our creek is a nightmare. We also have a lot of rolling hills, and this machine will not cut it on an incline. We use our John Deere mower on the inclines and near the creek, and use the Husqvarna MZ61 for the flat areas. Overall, great machine at a good price if you have a lot of flat area without any running water. I would recommend this to anyone with that type of yard! However, if you are concerned about getting traction in your yard, just upgrade to the commercial grade version!
